Introduction
The Washington Avenue – Prospect Heights Association (WAPHA) is a non-profit organization comprised of merchants, residents and property owners along the Washington Avenue business corridor in Brooklyn, New York.
Mission
The purpose of the Washington Avenue - Prospect Heights Association (WAPHA) is to provide support services for the Crown Heights/Prospect Heights neighborhoods, bound by Washington Avenue and adjoining cross streets between Atlantic Avenue and Eastern Parkway.
Services and Activities
The Association aims to engage in community-building activities:
- Beautification and streetscape improvements
- Business attraction
- Cooperation with local block associations and cultural institutions
- Street Festivals
- Supplementary sanitation and street-cleaning
- Marketing of area businesses and community activities
- Provision of technical and financial assistance to area businesses
- Storefront improvement assistance for area merchants and property owners
