Introduction

The Washington Avenue – Prospect Heights Association (WAPHA) is a non-profit organization comprised of merchants, residents and property owners along the Washington Avenue business corridor in Brooklyn, New York.

Mission

The purpose of the Washington Avenue - Prospect Heights Association (WAPHA) is to provide support services for the Crown Heights/Prospect Heights neighborhoods, bound by Washington Avenue and adjoining cross streets between Atlantic Avenue and Eastern Parkway.

Services and Activities

The Association aims to engage in community-building activities:

Beautification and streetscape improvements
Business attraction
Cooperation with local block associations and cultural institutions
Street Festivals
Supplementary sanitation and street-cleaning
Marketing of area businesses and community activities
Provision of technical and financial assistance to area businesses
Storefront improvement assistance for area merchants and property owners
